In 1889, then a little-known artist named Vincent, and by the name of Van Gogh, once during a hospital stay in a town called Saint-Remy, taking a canvas measuring 73 by 92 centimeters, he painted one of his most stunning, amazing paintings called “Starry Night ". Painted in the genre of landscape oil and related in style to post-impressionism, today it continues to inspire people of creativity and not only for feats in painting, literature and life.

Those who have seen this creation live know that the normal perception of Starry Night is not possible at a short distance: this is a specific, but fascinating technique, characteristic only for Van Gogh. Nevertheless, let's look at the canvas “close”.

The main “pillars” of the composition are seemingly huge cypress trees on the hill (foreground), pulsating crescent and stars of “shining”, bright yellow color. A city lying in a valley may even go unnoticed at first, because the emphasis is on the greatness of the universe.

A whirlwind in the sky reminds of the Milky Way, of galaxies, of cosmic harmony, expressed in both ecstatic and blissfully calm movement of all bodies in dark blue space. In the picture, these are eleven incredibly huge stars and a large, but waning month, reminiscent of the biblical story of Christ and the 12 apostles.

Often the viewer is impressed by the color scheme, this is a unique combination of deep dark blue, blue, sky, green (almost black), brown and sometimes marine colors and various shades of yellow (here, “sunflowers”, “oil”, and “egg yolks” ) The composition - cypresses, the moon, the stars in front, the town and the mountains behind - emphasizes depth and contrast, which makes it incredibly attractive to the eye and exciting when it comes to chest trembling.
